Youth Empowerment Services has created a place where youth who’ve dropped out of school can discover
their talents and dreams, while developing academic and job-related skills.

YES programs attract youth, because they get to do things that are important to them. Once they find out that
they want to learn, we help them set goals and achieve them by using innovative practices and highly talented
staff to improve literacy skills and the practical and technical skills youth need to succeed in the workplace.

YES’ year-round open entry program combines enticing media and art activities with proven counseling models,
GED preparatory classes and job-readiness training. Often, students who were not inspired by traditional school
become fully engaged in creating original art or media projects. Our courses are designed to develop literacy and
other academic skills through projects like producing music videos. Once students have completed introductory
courses, they can continue into more advanced training. Graduates are placed into continuing education programs
or jobs provided by a broad network of peer organizations and corporations.
